Four questions your gut cannot answer

You run the business on feel. Feel does not tell you the number.

01

Am I charging enough?

You quote $8,500 for a 25-square tear-off. Are contractors in your state getting $10,000, or $7,000? Guess low and you leave money on the table. Guess high and you lose bids you should win.

02

Why do my estimates sit?

You sent 30 last month and 8 closed. Is that normal? Maybe your cohort signs in 5 days while you sit at 12. Without a baseline you cannot tell the difference between a slow month and a broken follow-up.

03

Is it me, or the market?

Your win rate slid from 45% to 35% this quarter. If every roofer in your state saw the same drop, it is conditions. If it is only you, something in your process needs a look.

04

How do I compare for my size?

Measuring yourself against ServiceTitan-scale shops tells you nothing. You need contractors your size, in your trade, in your region. That specific a comparison has not existed anywhere.

Six metrics, ranked against your cohort

Each carries a sensitivity level. The more a metric could expose, the coarser the math it is allowed.

Estimate win rate

Percentiles and mean

What share of your estimates get signed. See where you land at the 25th, 50th, 75th, and 90th percentile.

Illustrative: you 58%, cohort median 52%, that puts you at P64.

Time to approval

Percentiles and mean

Days from sent to signed. Sitting at 14 when the median is 7 points straight at your follow-up.

Illustrative: you 11.2 days, median 8.4, P38.

Estimate value ranges

Percentiles only, no averages

Where your estimate amounts fall against similar contractors. Priced low for your market, or just smaller jobs?

Illustrative: your median $6,200, cohort P50 $7,800, P75 $12,400.

Monthly volume

Percentiles only

How many estimates you send a month against peers your size. Volume tracks growth, and it tracks capacity strain.

Illustrative: you 22 a month, median 18, P71.

Decline reasons

Frequency only

Why estimates get declined across the cohort. See whether price, timing, or trust is what loses peers the work.

Illustrative cohort split: 42% price, 28% timing, 18% chose a competitor, 12% other.

Job duration

Percentiles and mean

Days from job start to completion, against similar operations. A read on your production speed.

Illustrative: you 4.8 days, median 3.2, P32.

Compared against contractors like you

Three dimensions set your cohort. Defaults match your account. Move them to explore a wider or tighter group.

Trade type

Roofing, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting, landscaping, general contracting, and more.

Set from your primary declared trade.
Region

US state. TX, CA, FL, OH, and the rest.

State level only. Never city or zip.
Company size

Small is under 30 estimates a quarter, medium is 30 to 150, large is 150 plus.

Computed nightly from your estimate volume.

How the numbers stay anonymous

Benchmarks only ever exist as group statistics. Here is what that means in practice, not in a promise.

Read the full privacy explainer
  • Your identity is never stored next to the benchmark data.
  • A cohort needs at least 25 contractors before any number shows. Your numbers stay in a crowd.
  • Revenue is never benchmarked. Too sensitive, even in aggregate.
  • Financial metrics show as percentiles only. No averages that could be worked backward.
  • Sample counts round to the nearest 5, so nobody can read who opted in or out.
  • Cohorts stay coarse: trade and state, never city or zip.
  • Opt out and your data drops from the next nightly run.
  • Every opt-in and opt-out is written to your audit log.

Benchmarks, answered

Only computed statistics: win rates, close times, estimate value ranges, monthly volume, decline reasons, and job durations. Never revenue, never client data, never documents.

No. Your individual data is never exposed. Every benchmark is a percentile across 25 or more contractors, and no single contributor can be read back out of a percentile distribution.

If your specific cohort, say roofing in Wyoming, has fewer than 25 participants, we show nothing for it. Instead we point you at a broader cohort that does have the numbers, like all roofers nationwide.

Benchmarks run on Business ($249/mo) and Enterprise ($499/mo). Enterprise adds CSV export and a monthly email digest. Standard and Pro do not include benchmarks.

Yes. Benchmarks are off by default. You turn them on from Settings, Benchmarks. The trade is explicit: contribute anonymized data, and you get to see how you compare. Opt out and you lose access.

Nightly. The aggregation runs at 2:00 AM UTC every day across the trailing 30, 90, and 365 days of data from every opted-in contractor.

At the 72nd percentile for win rate, your win rate is higher than 72% of similar contractors. The 50th percentile is the median, right in the middle.

Enterprise includes CSV export. Download your benchmark data as a spreadsheet to share with partners, franchise owners, or carriers.
